Abstract

|
Two cases of the wound on the heart and pericardium were cared surgically at the 3rd Army
Hospital, are presented.
Themortality of heart wounds were over fifty percent. Because of the high mortality, the heart
wound was considered as serious clinical problem. But the early diagnosis and treatment save the
patient´s life as well as other serious disease entity. Recently we experienced two cases of the heart
wound, with which one was treated cardiorrhaphy because of cardiac lacerration and pericardic
tamponade, the other was treated pericardiocentesis and exploratory thoracotomy due to gunshot
wound of heart and lung injuries. The resuls of surgery were satisfactory. The litertures on the
heart wound were reviewed briefly.
